The Woman’s Hospital of Texas is a place for every woman, every baby; it is a place where the littlest things matter. We want to make sure your stay with us is comfortable and enjoyable. We know you have many choices for healthcare and we appreciate your decision to join us at The Woman’s Hospital. While you are here we want you to feel like family. The Woman’s Suites

Every woman who chooses The Woman’s Hospital of Texas receives the personal, compassionate care for which The Woman’s Hospital is renowned. But for those who prefer luxury accommodations. There are currently six Woman’s Suites available to provide space for family and friends to dine and visit while the patient rests comfortably in her adjoining room. The suites feature hotel-like accommodations and gourmet cuisine. Amenities include two-room suite featuring a queen size, fold-down sofa bed for family members. All rooms of the suite have a television, DVD player and computer access. Contact Nursing Administration at 713.791.7283 and a representative can provide additional information about the additional cost and suite availability.

Fitness Center, Massage & Spa

If you are a family member of a patient at Woman’s you have free access to our state-of-the-art Fitness Center located on The Woman’s Hospital campus at One Fannin. Free-weights, circuit training, personal Pilates, personal training and yoga are just a few of the amenities offered at the Fitness Center. In addition we have a full service massage and spa offering massage (including pregnancy and infant massage), Body Wraps, Hot Rock treatment and Foot Reflexology. Physical Therapy (PT)

Located in the Fitness Center, our PT department offers a variety of services including: Bedside massage therapy (for patients in the hospital), regular massage, Thai massage, foot and hand spa, salt scrub, hot rock massage, body wraps, and many others. Call extension 6125 from inside or 713.799.6181 or 713.799.6125 outside the hospital for further information.

Computer Access

For those with laptops equipped with wireless cards, high-speed Internet access is available in the cafeteria, the Labor and Delivery waiting area and the antepartum unit. Wireless is available in the cafeteria and selected hot spots, ask your nurse.

Food Options (Café, vending machines, room service, sibling cakes)

Our hospital Café serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and has vending machines available 24 hours a day. Coffee is available in most waiting areas and the Café. Room service is available for women and guests staying with us. To help celebrate your new baby we provide sibling cakes the day before or morning of discharge. Crave Café located in the 7900 building, Crave Café offers a Bistro atmosphere with delicious specialties made to order.

Room service

The Woman’s Hospital of Texas offers room service. At Your Request™ Room Service Dining is designed with you in mind. Order the food you want when you want it. Place your order by dialing FOOD (3663) anytime between 6:30 am and 6:30 pm. An operator will take your order and in forty-five minutes your food will be delivered right to your room. Guest trays are also available at an additional charge of $7.50 and can be purchased in the Café.

Education

This department helps women and their families prepare for the physical and psychological changes associated with pregnancy, birth and the transition to parenthood. We offer a wide variety of classes taught by certified and experienced educators in an open and secure environment. Click here for a schedule of classes. Floral Delivery

Flowers are delivered to the nursing stations and then to your room. Live flowers and plants are not permitted in Intensive Care Units.

Language Interpreters/ Communication Services

The Woman’s Hospital of Texas is committed to providing interpreter services for our limited-English speaking patients; and related communication equipment and services for our hearing-impaired patients. Please let our admitting staff know you would like an interpreter or you can make arrangements in advance by calling our patient advocacy department at 713-791-7287.

Newspapers & Mail

We keep you up-to-date with the latest news and events during your stay at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas by providing newspaper vending machings outside the front entrance of the hospital. We also provide mail delivery and deposit service. Stamps are available in the Gift Shop.

Pharmacy

Our outpatient pharmacy is open 24 hours a day to fill discharge prescriptions and is located on the first floor across from The Breast Care Center. Medications may not be charged to your room and for your convenience the pharmacy accepts cash, checks and credit cards for payment.

Baby Photo Information

With parental consent newborn photos are posted on a private, secure website within 48 hours from the date the photograph is taken. Click here to link to The Woman's Hospital Web Nursery.

Parking & Security

Patient parking is accessible in all areas except in the areas reserved for physicians. Our hospital security representatives continually patrol the buildings, parking areas and grounds and will escort you or your visitors to the parking area at any time if requested. Weekly or monthly parking passes are available at a discounted rate at the parking booths. Valet service is available 24 hours a day at the main entrance for no additional charge (regular parking rates will apply).
